Summerizing
I worked from home today. Hard to concentrate at times because I keep noticing loose hair on Java that obsessively have to pull out.

Java and I took a walk at the Rum River at 9 AM. The temperature was only in the low 40s and there was a chilly wind. Quite a switch from the 70s and even 80s that we had earlier in the week. But mostly sunny so that made it still gorgeous out. The clouds…
“Try again. Fail again. Fail better.” — Samuel Beckett One can strive to make changes in their life at any time of year, but a new year seems to bring with it the promise of another chance to do this year better. My head has been pinging around like a pinball game. Remember those? So…
Last Friday I met with Lynn and Sue to visit and spend some time writing. Afterwards, Lynn and I went to a couple shops. I bought this great purse at Krista Artista in the store’s red and green boutique area. Part of the proceeds from items that sell in that area of the shop…
Java and I managed to get to a skijoring training session today for the first time this year. Lovely setting, huh? Training takes place at an electrical substation. Last year, we went to a couple training sessions and hit the skijoring trails several times. But Java wasn’t well trained enough and I had never cross…
You know how it is. We all have dreams. Some we’ve carried around with us all our lives, and some are fairly new. But more often than not, we have even more dreams that we have buried – we’re too old, too broke, we don’t have time, we’re not smart enough, not talented enough, it…
Definite chill in the air since Friday. So how does my garden grow? Well, the big thing to get done this weekend was to move my herbs inside in hopes of having fresh rosemary, oregano, and mint tea all year round. With the help of Steve, I got my shelves and grow lights set up…

Bugs are so miserable. The fly predators we have been using have helped so much! We have a fly or two around, but nothing like before! It is amazing how the predators really work!
I hope you find something that helps, I hated seeing my horses with the bites all over them!
Java is a silly girl, love how she piles all her toys up! Very cute!
Gnats are the absolute grossest! Well, ticks are a little grosser, and deer flies the most disturbingly persistent, but the way gnats drill a hole into you and chow down is really disgusting. Poor horsies! : /
we get bees here… DH got bucked off coupla years ago when a bee got in whistler’s proverbial bonnet..
sit down and ride

Ouch…so many bites! That is the cutest photo of Java!
Ah, I am an obsessive tuft puller, too! L is the only dog I have ever had who gets little tufts that must be pulled out. I catch myself following him around trying to snatch tufts of fur off his backside. I don’t think he appreciates it, but I can’t help myself!
