A Raucous 4th
I went to my Aunt’s cabin for the 4th of July. My Aunt, cousin A, her husband, and a few of the grandkids were there.
And of course with the music, you had to have some dancing.

Just in case you needed a Brew Babes fix before I launch into deep thoughts… Are you ready? Let me light the way. Ah yes, the writing has been difficult to do everyday, having the time, not to mention coming up with something to write about and finding a way to make it “poetic”. This…
I saw this Pedigree brand commercial and started crying. Not because I felt “pity” for the shelter animals, but because I identified with them. “Maery’s not broken. She has simply experienced more life…” Too often I think my X broke something so deeply inside me that no matter how strong my will and my spirit…
Luke and Murphy were hiding behind the barn but came out and looked at me rather accusingly. Like “Hey! Do you not see the icicles forming on me?!”
My sister advised me not to be like Lot’s wife and spend my time looking backwards, lest I turn into a pillar of salt. Perhaps pillar of salt was a metaphor for grief and the salty tears that sadness brings? I know I can’t get through this time without grieving, without examining my life to…
And you thought that my previous post was it with the Anoka Halloween parade photos, didn’t you? Not by a long shot! The parade route was so crowded that Steve and I stood in the parade staging area where there were more opportunities to catch people in non-parade like poses. In other words, in their more…

Amazing! A boat parade…looks like a wonderful time. Your pictures turned out great.
Wow, the boats are really something…looks like good times!!!
Those are some seriously cool boats! That looks like so much fun. The water balloon fight sounds like a blast! We would do that when we go river rafting. Sure helps to cool down on a hot day!
Glad the horses made it through ok! Mine get pretty freaked out. But we stay home to keep an eye on them.
I grew up on a lake and loved it, but the boat parades were not that unique! Looks like a fun place.
OMG– I’m so jealous! That’s the most awesome 4th EVER! (Giving me ideas for the floatilla next year!)
The boats were a lot of fun this year. It seemed like the water fights were a lot more ingenious this year.
Sue – I’m wondering if your planning on using some of the boat decor or incorporating the water cannons into the floatilla. It’s a good way to cool off. Unfortunately, the paper mache fish hats and hollywood glamorama would not hold up so different costumes would be in order.
