A Kid at Heart

I’m looking for A rhythm Like hoofbeats On rock Like a rider Who is joined In the up And the down And the breath And the heart And in knowing This is right You know the feeling. Golfers and baseball players call it the “sweet spot”. It’s that moment when you get it just right. The longer…
My little stress relieving ditty, which should be sung to the melody of “I’ve Been Working on the Railroad”. Working Girl Anthem I’ve been banging on the keyboard All the live long day I’ve been banging on the keyboard Just so for shelter and food I can pay Can’t you hear the horns a honking…
(My beautiful sister and I) I Gotta Be Me I put one foot out As if to step forward Holding out One treasured Piece of self In cupped hands I pray for Sweet welcome Another feather In my boa The other foot Lifts Stands in transition One more Gift pulled From my basket Another day …
“Forgive the dead year. Forgive yourself. What will be wants To push through your fingers.” ~ Marge Piercy, “The head of the year” Forgive yourself… Isn’t [s]he the hardest person to forgive of all? I’m still waiting for her to make amends The future is not ours to see or to make or to bend…
“The neighbors wanted stacks of MISSING posters for every person they lost, even themselves. Missing: former self. Distinguishing marks: expectations of fame, ability to demand love. Last seen wearing: hopeful expression, uncomfortable shoes.” ~ Thunderstruck & Other Stories by Elizabeth McCracken Do you ever feel like you have lost your former self and would like…
Have you seen the towering trees Tower walking their dogs? Ssshhh! Close encounters of tree kind… Did I mention I saw a cloud formation today? A pipe, like my Dad used to smoke And alongside it A match with a sunset orange flame Sorry I didn’t have my camera You’ll just have to take my…

Got another plate??? It looks delicious!!!
I’ve often said, “I’m like Peter Pan and will never grow up!” I’ve always surrounded myself with children…teachin’, Sunday School, Kid’s Church and eight grands…I don’t have to grow up!!! Heeehehehe!!
I adore both the picture and the beautiful poem sweetie.
Have yourself a perfectly blessed day my ‘kid’ sister!!! :o)
I just ordered 2 mushroom boxes! One for us and one for our daughter. This is such a fun idea. Thanks!
I have never heard of such a thing! Very cool! Mother Earth Maery:-)
I HAVE to order these! Were they on 60 minutes? (what a great idea, glad they made a buddle…and from coffee grounds…who knew, they should put these guys in charge of world hunger )
They look beautiful too! Stunning enough to put anywhere.
(and I hope we never reach that point either) Great poem Maery!
Beautiful poem! I was at our local health food store looking at that exact mushroom kit two days ago. I think that I may have to go back and get one!
Oh my! I never knew mushrooms could look so beautiful…kind of like Calla Lilies!
We don’t have mushrooms here…just not enough humidity and moisture and way too much sunlight to grow them.
I’m not a huge fan of eating mushrooms…they taste like dirt to me. lol! But this would be a fun project to do with my kids. I bet my chickens would eat them afterwards.
Fun!
And I like your poem, too!
