Step – Ouch! Step – Ouch!
Moving in little baby steps of separation, thinking that will ease the pain. Instead, each minor step brings another stabbing jolt. Ouch!

Here is proof positive that I’m not very good with money. I own a horse. And he’s looking kind of wooly too. And yeah, I left his sheet off after I rode so his sweaty self could dry a bit in the mild weather. Nothing says spend, spend, spend like a horse does. Make that…
It’s been a few days since I posted. Not that I haven’t written tons and tons, but thank God I have demonstrated some degree of self control and not publicized my sad, grieving, horrifying thoughts. A word of advice, when you lose your love, do not read poetry like this: The Summer We Almost Split…
It’s beginning to look a lot like fall. Leaves are starting to yellow slightly. Maple leaves are starting to redden. Poison Sumac sure is pretty at this time of year. Leaves cover our usually clear path. Sit break. We’ve been going through a dry period again and the river shows it. However fall like it…
It’s almost Easter and I’ve been feeling nostalgic. My adoptive Mom was Polish and at Easter time she made a beet and horseradish relish that we called “Kassan”. I have no idea how to spell it. But her recent post called “Acceptance and Rejection – Balance in the Creative Life” not only struck a chord with me as a writer, but with me as…
I’m a hug and kiss in the morning girl. I’m a spoon in bed smell his neck at night and know the world is okay kind of lady. I’m a sleep with my nose buried in his t-shirt for a month after he leaves kind of wife. I’m taking this one-gal-act offline for awhile. I…

You are making progress. Hang on.
One step at a time! Love the picture of your horses!
Good girl- one step at a time. My horse escaped once and ran through a neighbor’s barbed wire fence in the night. The vet had to come stitch his face up. So scary!
When this is behind you you’ll be Mary 2.0- better stronger faster. The feeling of accomplishment and self sufficiency is something no one will ever be able to take from you again. You won’t have to be afraid of anything. 🙂
Keep on. You’re amazing!
I’m glad you have all the critters. See … they are your new US.
Thanks for standing by for brighter times.
Sue, your words brought tears to my eyes, in a good way. I sure hope you are right.
methinks your horses will help heal your heart… onward and upward, cautious and courageous
