Getting around, playing, and traveling by bicycle
Thursday and Friday, I did my first bike-train commutes of 2015. It was rough start, because, for one thing, I lost my Metro Go Card.
Saturday, Steve and I packed up our bikes and went to the trails behind the Rum River library because the ‘real’ fat bike trails were already closed for the spring thaw. The Rum River trails aren’t fat bike specific and have no rules except to stay on the trail during hunting season.
It was one of those weekends where everything I wrote sounded like drivel. So I’m doing the wise thing and going pictorial…
As I begin this post about what I love about Minnesota winters, it’s 5 degrees fahrenheit outside, with a real feel of -13, thanks to wind gusts up to 32 mph.
When I describe to people why I love my fat bike, I say things like “It makes me feel like a tank, buzzing slowly, but impressively, along.”
There is so much I’ve forgotten and not because it was something to forget but because I wasn’t paying close enough attention to know the significance at the time. How often am I doing that again? Am I doing it right now?
